How about having a slice of the cultural festivity in the hills?

The land of Gods has mythology well weaved in its social character. And to keep the rhythm in various walks of life the fairs have occupied a predominant role.

Let the Hill Gypsy take you to one such fair in the land of the cold desert. The Spiti valley- where the Ladarcha festival is celebrated. It was originally organized to strengthen the commercial bond between India and Tibet in the Kibber region of Spiti. The festival was in fact, abandoned in the year 1962 owing to war with China. It was however, started again in 1980. The fair is now held at Kaza which is the district headquarters of Spiti.

Know Your Destination

Ladarcha fair attracts many regional traders including local inhabitants and tourists. Not to mention, one can witness the Chaam & Buchan dance along with special Buddhist sermons, archery competitions and in particular, performances from the local artists. In other words, the calm and serene valley of Kaza is transformed into a bustling carnival during the fair.
