Trip Itinerary

Day 1 Chandigarh -Narkanda

    • You will be picked up from Chandigarh and transferred to Narkanda via Shimla.
    • Narkanda is situated at a distance of about 70 kms from the Shimla town- a quaint little town popular for skiing and other winter sports but also for its majestic view of the mountains and apple orchards.
    • Reach Narkanda in the evening. Transfer to the hotel and you can visit the beautiful Tani Jubbar lake here. Evening at leisure.
    • Overnight stay and dinner in your hotel.
  • Day 2 Narkanda- Chitkul via Sangla

    • After breakfast, early morning we shall drive to Chitkul from Narkanda
    • Visit Chitkul– the last inhabited Indian village on the Indo-Tibetan border. It is a small village with captivating views of the snow- clad Himalayan ranges. Although the road doesn’t take you till the actual border, it closes around 90 km before and the rest of the area is under the control of the Indian Paramilitary force.
    • Visit the 500-year-old Mathi temple, dedicated to goddess Shri Mathi. The beautiful temple consists of the goddess made up of walnut wood and covered with clothes and decorated by a tuft of the tail of yak. You can sit by the mighty Baspa River or take a walk around.
    • Evening at leisure.
    • Overnight stay and dinner at Sangla, 28 kms from here on the way back towards Kinnaur.
  • Day 3 Sangla to Tabo via Nako

    • After breakfast, transfer from Sangla to Tabo via Nakko.
    • On the way, you may stop at Khab bridge for pictures.
    • Next, visit Nako Lake which is surrounded by willow and poplar trees. They form the boundary of the scenic Nako village. The Lake seems to be buried in the lake’s borders. Sit back and admire the surroundings.
    • Later, visit the Gue Monastery on the way to Tabo. It is a detour of about 8 kms. The Gue village and the monastery is famous for its Lama Mummy– the only naturally mummified body found in our country. The shrunken body belongs to the Lama (monk) Sangha Tenzin sitting in a yogic posture.
    • Check into your place of stay here and evening at leisure.
    • Overnight stay and dinner at Tabo.
  • Day 4 Tabo to Kaza in Spiti

    • After breakfast, visit Tabo’s ancient – thousand-year-old Monastery as it is second in importance only to the Tholing Gompa in Tibet.
    • Tabo Monastery (0r Tabo Chos- Khor Monastery) is the daughter monastery of Tholing Monastery in Ngari, western Tibet and is also referred to as the Ajanta of the Himalayas. Photography by the visitors is prohibited inside its premises.
    • Later, on the way to Kaza, visit the Dhankar Monastery which was built as a fort Monastery. The complex is built on a 1000-foot-high spur overlooking the confluence of the Spiti & Pin Rivers- one of the world’s spectacular settings for a gompa. If time permits, take an optional hike to Dhankar lake.
    • Later, drive towards Kaza.
    • Reach Kaza by evening. Check into your place of stay.
    • Overnight stay and dinner at your hotel in Kaza.
  • Day 5 Kaza local- Monastery Hopping

    • After breakfast, visit Langza and Hikkim.
    • Hikkim, located about 15 km from the town of Kaza in Spiti valley, is the world’s highest polling station at 14,567 ft. It also has the highest post office in the world. However, the post office gets shut down for 6 months due to extreme climatic conditions. Hikkim is a beautiful small village with a meagre population but is a must stop for the visitors.
    • Later, we shall visit Langza which has a population of less than 150 people and this pretty village is set at the base of Chau Chau Kang Nilda Mountain, also known as the Princess Mountain. The place is famous not only for its huge Buddha statue at 14300 ft height facing the mountains overlooking the valley but also is a hamlet rich in fossils of marine animals and plants.
    • Later, we shall visit Koumic village.
    • Koumic has the distinction of being the highest village in the world connected with motorable road at an altitude of 4587 mt. The Tangyud Monastery here- built around the early 14th century has a statue of Matrey Buddha or ‘the future buddha‘.
    • Later, in the evening return back to Kaza for an overnight stay and dinner.
  • Day 6 Kaza local

    • After breakfast, visit the famous Key Monastery or the Kye Gompa which is over 1000-year-old. It is a very scenic monastery located at an elevation of 4166 mts and is the largest of the Spiti valley and holds great spiritual significance. It serves as a religious training centre for the lamas.
    • Later, we shall proceed to the Chicham village crossing Asia’s highest & one of the most spectacular suspension bridges at 13,123 ft, located above the Samba Lamba Nallah, a 1000ft deep gorge that connects Chicham and Kibber villages.
    • Visit the Chicham and Kibber which are one of the remotest villages in Spiti. Get yourself clicked in one of the most serene environments here.
    • Overnight stay and dinner at Kaza.
  • Day 7 Kaza to Chandratal

    • Early morning after breakfast, check out from Kaza and head toward Chandratal lake. The way from Kaza till Losar village offers the most splendid views of the cliff mountains and will certainly leave you spellbound by its unmatched beauty.
    • Popularly known as the trekker’s paradise, Chandratal Lake is reckoned as the most charismatic lake situated in the laps of Himalayas. This enticing lake is perched on the Samudra Tapu plateau which lies in close proximity to Chandra River. After checking into your camps, walk up to the lake. Sit back, relax and enjoy the calmness of the place.
    • Overnight stay and dinner at Chandratal camps.
  • Day 8- Chandratal to Manali

    • After early morning breakfast, check out of your camps in Chandratal and drive towards Manali via Batal & Gramphu, which actually is one of the most rugged but most beautiful terrains in this region.
    • Check into your hotel in Manali.
    • Evening at leisure here on the mall road.
    • Overnight stay & dinner at your hotel in Manali.
  • Day 9 Manali to Chandigarh

    • After breakfast, check out of your hotel in Manali and take a return journey to Chandigarh.

    • Any lunch, mineral water.
    • Any meals other than those specified. Expenses of personal nature such as tips, telephone calls, laundry, liquor, shopping etc.
    • Entrance fee, if any during sightseeing.
    • Vehicle will be provided on a point-to-point basis and will not be at disposal of the guest.
    • Any activity or sightseeing not mentioned in the itinerary.
    • Certain sightseeing places may not be covered due to bad roads or unsuitable weather conditions and no refund is applicable in such circumstances.
